hopscotch allegories

intaglio and dry-point etchings in a handmade artist book that opens to stand 6 feet tall

As my artist book unfolds a story begins to climb high, it focuses on belonging somewhere; of leaving and returning, and how that process may be seen, felt and then imagined. This work contains an allegory, a symbolic narrative about the hopscotch image, a childhood game but more than a game; throughout history it has symbolized the search for a higher place or power. Combining these prints into an artist book enabled me to expand my story within a single structure of multiple prints.
